Nathan Jensen teaches Voice, Piano, Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, French Horn and Tuba/Euphonium. He offers lessons in Greeley, Loveland and Fort Collins areas. First, Nathan will assess your skill level, interests and goals. Next, he can create a customized program to suit your needs. Also, he works well with kids and adults, beginner to advanced, in most styles of music. In your custom program you will learn the skills, techniques and theory you need to become proficient at your favorite styles. Nathan Jensen Intro Video
Nathan was raised in Hastings, Nebraska where he grew up in a musical family. His sister is a piano teacher and his father is the chair of the music department at Hastings College. Subsequently, Nathan was very involved in private piano, trumpet, and voice lessons while growing up. For his undergraduate degree, Nathan attended Hastings College where he studied Voice Performance and Music Education. Currently, Nathan is continuing his education at the University of Northern Colorado, where he is pursuing a Master’s degree in Voice performance.
In the performance realm, Nathan has sung on stage in Missouri and Arizona in singing competitions. Nathan became heavily involved in the top audition choir and bell choir at Hastings College. Most recently, he performed the role of the “Sprecher” in the University of Northern Colorado’s rendition of Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte. In addition, in spring 2019, Nathan will perform the role of “Superintendent Budd” in Benjamin Britton’s opera, Albert Herring. He has experience singing in choirs, operas, and a cappella groups (mixed and all men).
With one of his undergraduate degree in education, Nathan enjoys teaching private lessons as well as group format in the classroom. Privately he has taught high school voice lessons, piano lessons, and multiple beginning trumpet lessons in Hastings, Nebraska. With schooling and student teaching in band, Nathan is very adept at teaching all band instruments.
In addition, Nathan has had many opportunities to be in multiple ensembles and acting in leadership roles. One of those leadership roles included being the president of the Xi Alpha chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, which is a National Music Fraternity. Finally, Nathan’s ultimate goals are to be a profession bass singer and teach music to students privately, while he continues to advocate for music.
