Krysta Warner Intro Video

Background:

First, Krysta Warner is from Norman, Oklahoma. She studied Music Therapy at Berklee College of Music in Boston. Also, she recently moved to the Boulder area to soak up the mountain air and look for job opportunities related to her field of study. She began singing at the age of seven and all the way through college. While growing up, she had the opportunity to sing in a local cover band and begin learning the piano with her voice teacher. Subsequently, she began playing piano, guitar and writing music at sixteen. Her interests in psychology and the power of music were driving forces in her decision to major in Music Therapy at Berklee.

Krysta’s Education and Experience:

Throughout her time in college, she continued to hone her skills working with a variety a people, including children, young adults, and the geriatric population. Her passion lies in working in the mental health field and using music as a tool for empowerment and self-discovery. In her schooling, she also learned extensive music theory and ear training. Through this, she found her strength in learning music by ear and using this skill to continue to create music of her own. These skills and experience give her the foundation for teaching voice lessons, piano lessons, guitar lessons and ukulele lessons.

Performances and Experience:

Krysta worked with local artists in the Boston area through open mic appearances, and yoga studio music as well as videography and music projects. Krysta teaches all styles of music. However, some of her favorite artists include Jeff Buckley, Fiona Apple, Amy Winehouse, Ella Fitzgerald, and Frank Ocean to name a few. Therefore, her style is largely influenced by these artists. In addition she has a deep love for old blues and country. She enjoys hiking, going to the movies, and of course writing music in her free time! She hopes to continue to grow in her musicality and hone her skills using recording software, as well as progressing in her guitar and piano skills.
